How to use the Passive - Perfect Tense
This is formed/used by using the perfect tense of WERDEN, and the participle of the other relevant verb.
Perfect Tense of WERDEN
e.g. Ich bin geworden
In the Perfect Tense in the Passive, the "ge-" is dropped from geworden.
ich werde... du wirst... er/sie/es wird... wir werden... ihr werdet... sie/Sie werden... |
+ participle (e.g. gemacht) + worden |
e.g.
ACTIVE: Die Regierung hat eine neue Straße gebaut. (The
government has built a new road.)
bauen (to build)
participle = gebaut
PASSIVE : Eine neue Straße ist von der Regierung gebaut worden. (A
new road has been built by the government.)
e.g.
NORMAL : Das Auto hat den Abfalleimer zerstört. (The
car has destroyed the rubbish bin.)
zerstören (to destroy)
participle = zerstört
PASSIVE : Der Abfalleimer ist durch das Auto zerstört worden. (The
bin has been destroyed by the car.)
