Ich habe die Katze aus dem Sack gelassen. = I let the cat out of the bag.
Es war alles für die Katz. = It was all a waste of time.
Es ist ja nur ein Katzensprung. = It is only a stone's throw away.
mit Kind und Kegel = with bag and baggage (the whole kit and caboodle)
das Kind beim Namen nennen = to call a spade a spade
Wir werden das Kind schon schaukeln. = We'll work it out somehow.
Kleider machen Leute. = Clothes make the man.
Er (sie) ist in der Klemme. = He's (she's) up against it (has a problem).
Er (sie) sitzt ganz schön in der Klemme (Patsche/Tinte). = He's (she's) in a real fix (bind/jam).
Viele Köche verderben den Brei. = Too many cooks spoil the broth.
Er (sie) kocht auch nur mit Wasser. = He's (she's) no different to anyone else.
wie auf glühenden Kohlen sitzen = to be like a cat on a hot tin roof (on tenterhooks)
sich etwas aus dem Kopf schlagen = to stop thinking of something, to give up a plan
Hier steht alles auf dem Kopf. = Everything is topsy-turvy here, everything's all over the place.
den Kopf in den Sand stecken = to hide one's head in the sand
den Kopf oben behalten = to keep one's spirits up
ein Brett vor dem Kopf haben = to be thick, stupid (perhaps temporarily)
hohl im Kopf sein = to be empty-headed, thick
Verlieren Sie nicht den Kopf! = Keep your head! / Don't lose your cool!
Mir dreht sich alles im Kopf. = My head is spinning.
(etwas) auf den Kopf stellen = to turn (something) upside down
Tatsachen auf den Kopf stellen = to stand facts on their heads
sich den Kopf zerbrechen über (+ Accusative case)... = to rack one’s brains over...
ohne viel Kopfzerbrechen = without much pondering, without too much consideration
einen Korb bekommen = to be turned down, get a rejection

Lass es doch! = Forget it! Skip it!
(eine Person) auf dem laufenden halten = to keep (a person) informed
Er (sie) läuft wie der Blitz. = He (she) runs like lightning.
Er (sie) spielt die beleidigte Leberwurst. = He (she) is in a huff.
mit Leib und Seele = with heart and soul
Er (sie) hat wirklich eine lange Leitung / Er (sie) ist wirklich schwer von Begriff. = He (she) is really slow on the uptake.
Was Hänschen nicht lernt, lernt Hans nimmermehr. = You can't teach an old dog new tricks.
Liebe macht blind. = Love is blind.
Eine Liebe ist der anderen wert. = One good turn deserves another.
Er weiß ein Lied davon zu singen. = He can tell you a thing or two about it.
etwas los werden = to get rid of something
Die Luft ist rein. Los, verschwinden wir! = The coast is clear. Quick, let's get out of here!
etwas aus der Luft greifen = to make something up completely
Er ging in die Luft. = He blew his top (went through the roof).
Lug und Trug = A pack of lies
Er (sie) lügt, dass sich die Balken biegen. = He (she) lies like a trooper.
